JapaStudios Vision

JapaStudios was created to inspire prayer and meditation in every day life.

Mother Teresa

Blessed Mother Teresa said,

"I always begin my prayer in silence, for it is in the silence of the heart that God speaks." Her "simple path" states: "The fruit of silence is PRAYER. The fruit of prayer is FAITH. The fruit of faith is LOVE. The fruit of love is SERVICE. The fruit of service is PEACE."

Japa, a spiritual discipline involving the meditative repetition of a mantra or name of God, is the soul of the artistic expressions created and shared through JapaStudios. The Studio artists, from across the country, create spiritual art through meditation and prayer to provide spiritual guidance and reflection to the viewer of the artwork. The artists’ works come from within their personal spiritual path explorations and conversations with God. The pieces are then shared to inspire a connection between God and the viewer of the art.

It is said that the voice of God is often heard within an image. Through Artistic expression, "Whispers of the Holy Spirit can be known and felt. Meditating with art strives to recognize these whispers in an atmosphere of artistic beauty and quiet that will foster a deeper 'soul' conversation with the God who is beyond the spoken word.” We should strive to "find a capacity to move through and beyond to ‘contact’ God in a direct, personal way— creating a time of communion in which you can be inspired, healed, reconciled, challenged, and nourished."

Currently JapaStudios offers original artwork, reproductions and products to religious and spiritual organizations and business. Our collections include Fine Art Giclee prints and religious and spiritual collectables and gifts, such as rosaries, note cards, jewelry and more.

A portion of the proceeds supports religious and spiritual humanitarian charities and the services they provide. We believe JapaStudios to be a service to help uplift the of suffering humanity, to teach the youth of the future - spiritual practices, and to inspire prayer in each heart the Studio touches.

Amma "Before a hospital can be founded, before a devastated village can be adopted, before a forest can be rehabilitated, the minds and hearts of each individual must undergo a transformation so they imbibe the spirit of selfless service and dedicate to that noble cause." - Mata Amritanandamayi

The future of JapaStudios holds a vision of a collaboration of artists from all fields; visual arts, music, creative writing and more. We hope to provide local studios across the country to allow a place with an open atmosphere which encourages prayer and serenity for these artists to come together to create.

Definition of Japa

Japa is a spiritual discipline involving the meditative repetition of a mantra or name of God. The mantra or name may be spoken softly, enough for the practitioner to hear it, or it may be spoken purely within the recitor's mind. Japa may be performed while sitting in a meditation posture, while performing other activities, or as part of formal worship in group settings. The practice of repetitive prayer is present in varied forms within most religions in the world.- Wikipedia
